Fieldbus Inc. (FI) was established as a Texas corporation in 1993. The initial business functions were focused on administration and management of the HART Communication Foundation and the ISP Foundation, which later became the Fieldbus Foundation. In mid 1996, FI launched new engineering and services business to support industry users in the application of fieldbus technology.

 

Today, FI is one of only three authorized Development Services Providers with specialized expertise in FOUNDATION Fieldbus, HART and WirelessHART communication technology. We are an established and well known solutions provider for fieldbus technology application, product development, device description (DD) development, compliance verification testing, communication stacks, function blocks, pc-boards, consultation, training and other products and services.

 

As recognized experts in field communication technologies for the process automation industry, FI has made many contributions to the development and advancement of FOUNDATION Fieldbus, HART and WirelessHART Communication Standards and Technology. FI is an active member of the FieldComm Group supporting the FOUNDATION Fieldbus, HART, WirelessHART and FDI (Field Device Integration) technologies. Our employees actively participate on the Function Block, Interoperability Test Kit (ITK) and Application Profile Teams. They are also editors of the Transducer Block Specification and provide maintenance support for Device Description and ITK technology.
